As the 2020-2021 Cohort took the graduation stage on July 24, 2021, the feedback had been collected from the students and faculty regarding the outstanding CICS student. In an overwhelming response from students as well as a unanimous vote from CICS faculty, Christopher Nouhan received the special designation of Student of the Year.
Christopher is a 2020 graduate of Alma College where he majored in New Media Studies, served in many on-campus roles; most notably helping to create, launch, and manage a student run production company. Christopher served in CICS as the graduate assistant to Director Dennis Trinkle who kept Christopher busy in a plethora of projects from The Horizon Report, writing and coordinating The Recipes for Success: How to Build a Business book chapters, and more.
In addition to his extensive graduate assistant responsibilities, Christopher was on the winning Accenture Challenge team, the winning Salesforce Challenge team, he competed in and won an ITERA case conference with two other students, worked with two other students to have a paper published in IEEE, attended every weekly social learning webinar, networked extensively with alumni of the program, developed mentor/mentee relationships with his alma mater, and with current and former CICS ground and online students. All of this is impressive for someone in an 11 month full time professional masters program, but Christopher also continued to work with and manage his family’s marketing company.
As if he wasn’t busy enough, Christopher earned certifications with Palo Alto Cybersecurity Academy, CISCO CCNA: Introduction to Networks, and AWS Academy Cloud Foundations. Most impressive is that Christopher did everything listed here, maintained friendships, a positive attitude and was one of two students to earn a 4.0 GPA in the CICS 11 month campus program. Again, this award is partly decided upon by the students in the cohort and Christopher was a clear favorite for his support and leadership throughout the year.
Christopher begins his professional career in Chicago with Accenture and he is certainly well prepared though his own dedication to work ethic and excellence.
